![]() ![]() In the wake of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, officially rebranding the collection to be Pride-specific - and donating the profits from the sales of the collection to LGBTQIA+ organizations in the US and beyond - is more than appropriate. As Disney shared in a blog post, the collection of rainbow-adorned clothing and accessories was “dreamed up and designed by members and allies of the community, for members and allies of the community.” This year, the company also announced that profits from the collection would benefit GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, Zebra Coalition, Los Angeles LGBT Center, LGBTQ Center Orange County, San Francisco LGBT Center, and Ali Forney Center, as well as other local organizations in communities all around the world. The merchandise collection was officially rebranded as the Disney Pride Collection this year. It was assumed to be an LGBTQIA+ Pride line of products, but it never fully committed to screaming “Gay Rights.” That is, until now. ![]() In the past, it was called the Rainbow Collection, and it did not include any Pride-specific language.
